Loosing a loved one is one of those topics no one likes to think or talk about until you have to. Unsurprisingly, this leaves people lost and overwhelmed when a loved one passes away.

If you are bereaved, don't lock yourself away, get help.

A number of charities provide support if you are bereaved including:

You may also be able to receive government support through a Bereavement Support Payment if your husband, wife or civil partner died in the last 21 months.
You should ideally apply within three months of the death in order to receive the full benefits. Find out if you are eligible, how much you can get and how to claim from this link.
